Daniel Slichter

University of California, Berkeley

Area of Study: Physics

Fellowship Years: 2006 - present

Profile: Daniel Slichter is a Ph.D. candidate in physics at the University of California, Berkeley. He received his A.B. magna cum laude in physics from Harvard University in 2004, and his M.A. in physics from Berkeley in 2007.

Daniel's research is on quantum coherence in macroscopic systems, focusing primarily on superconducting circuits. His current project involves designing and building quantum circuits which are intrinsically noise-resistant, maintaining their quantum information despite interference from the environment. His research group also does work in other areas of nanoscale low-temperature physics.

When he is not in the lab, Daniel enjoys hiking, skiing, and running.
