The Foundation held 2 events in Southern California. Hertz Foundation Director, Tom McCann, hosted a gathering for Hertz Fellows at his home in Huntington Beach. The following day the Foundation hosted a gathering for Fellows and friends at Caltech at which Ray Sidney was recognized for creating the first named Hertz Fellowships in honor of two of his professors. Professor Abu-Mustafa and receipient David Van Valen were present when we honored Ray. Both in-school and alumni Fellows attended the gathering allowing them to forge new friendships, exchange ideas and build professional networks.
